Dear Sir\Madam

A group of postgraduate students and staff from the Institute for
Development Policy and Management, University of Manchester
will be travelling to Belgium as part of a study visit in May 2005 and
we would be very interested in visiting your organisation.

The study visit is an integral part of the programme of study and
course participants are currently at the University of Manchester
studying a one year Masters programme in the area of Human
Resource Management and Organisational Change and
Development. Programme participants are from a wide range of
countries and diverse backgrounds:many are senior practitioners,
managers and policy makers in their own countries and they come
from as far afield as central Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. Staff
members will include Dr Chris Rees, Lecturer at IDPM, Dr Aminu
Mamman, Senior Lecturer at IDPM and two members of our
administrative team.

We would be interested in presentations in the broad area of HR
and change management including strategic HRM, international
HRM, self managing teams, training and development, trade union
and employer relationships, automation etc within your organisation to use this
as a comparison to UK policy and practice, and to complement the
classroom work that participants are currently undertaking in
Manchester. Past experience shows that these study visits are a
most valuable part of the student's experience.

We are available at a time to convenient to you on the morning of Wednesday 18, or anytime on
Thursday 19, Friday 20 or Saturday 21 May and anticipate a group of about 30 students (we will be
visiting Belgium in a large group of 60 people and will be participating in several visits of smaller groups).

The visit and presentations can take the form of presentation(s),
tours, informal group sessions of whatever you deem appropriate
and the content can be as wide-ranging or focused as you wish.
We will arrange our own transport and can pay a fee for your own
time and the company's resources.

We very much hope that you will be able to host a visit. If you
would like further information or clarification please do not hesitate

If you not able to accommodate a visit for our organisation, I would be grateful if you could email to inform me of this fact. This way I can contact alternative organisations for possible visits.
